Rejuvenate on the Daily

Spimgresring is in full swing! I know it’s still a little chilly in some parts of the world, but here in Nor Cal we are in bloom! I have to admit that after spending the last 8 winters in NYC, I am grateful to be home in the sunshine. Some of us just thrive in warm weather and I am definitely one of those people.

Lately, I’ve been out and about delivering my workshop on how to properly cleanse and detox your body. Why is this important? Well, think of the amount of toxins your body has to deal with everyday – environmental toxins, additives in the food supply, chemicals in beauty and cleaning products, and more. When your body is bogged down with trying to process all that toxicity, you tend to feel less than awesome.

Regardless of where you live, or even what season it is for that matter, do you ever start to notice when you’re feeling a little less energetic than usual? Or when your skin might be breaking out a little? Or when your digestion is less than optimal? We all most likely experience these types issues from time to time but either choose to ignore them or simply don’t know what to do about it so we suffer through it. And sometimes you might think that your body is totally trying to sabotage your life by acting up like this.

Well, I’ve got some news for ya! These are actually ways that your body is trying to communicate with you. It’s saying “Hey! I’m down here below that crazy head of yours needing a little extra TLC!” Whenever you catch these signals from your body, these are good indicators that it’s time to hit the reset button. And you can that by incorporating these 3 easy tips on how to gently detox on a daily basis.

1) Drink lots of water! I know, I know. You’ve heard this a million times! But I find that this reminder never gets old. I have clients who have been working with me for months and they are still not drinking enough of the stuff. Also, please choose clean water for that precious vessel of yours. Here’s a wonderful article from the highly reputable Dr. Mercola on the best drinking water.

2) Eat more green veggies. Again, broken record, but I must remind you that greens are some of the most important foods to put into your body. Learning to incorporate dark leafy greens into the diet is essential to establishing a healthy body and immune system. When you nourish yourself with greens, you naturally crowd out the foods that make you sick. Green vegetables help to replenish our alkaline mineral stores and filter out pollutants. And green is associated with spring – the time of renewal, refreshment, and vital energy.

3) Cook at home. Don’t get me wrong, I love a nice meal out on the town, but I strive to prepare/cook about 90% of my meals at home. This is because well, for one I love to cook! And two, I know exactly what is going into my body. The type of oils, amount of salt, and the amount of time those delicious greens were cooking on the stove are all factors that effect my how I feel – physically, mentally and energetically. Most of the time when you dine out at restaurant, it may taste delicious but you don’t always know what ingredients and methods are being used in the kitchen. These things do contribute to your vibration!
